By accessing or using LendIt ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
LendIt is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects people who want to rent tech gear ("Renters") with people who own tech gear and want to lend it ("Lenders"). LendIt facilitates the transaction but is not a party to the rental agreement between Renters and Lenders.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use this Service. By using LendIt, you represent that you meet these requirements.
You must create an account to list or rent items. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate information and to update it as necessary.
Lenders are responsible for accurately describing their items, setting fair prices, and ensuring items are in working condition. Lenders must only list items they legally own or are authorized to rent.
Renters agree to use rented items responsibly, return them on time and in the same condition, and pay all agreed-upon fees including deposits.
All payments are processed through Stripe. By using the Service, you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service. LendIt may charge service fees on transactions. Refundable deposits are returned at the Lender's discretion after the rental period, subject to the item being returned in good condition.
Renters may cancel a confirmed booking before the rental start date for a full refund. Cancellations after the start date are not eligible for refunds. Deposits are returned by the Lender after the rental period if the item is returned undamaged.
You agree not to: (a) list stolen, counterfeit, or illegal items; (b) misrepresent items or your identity; (c) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (d) circumvent payment processing; (e) harass other users; (f) attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service.
LendIt is a marketplace platform and is not responsible for the condition, quality, safety, or legality of listed items. LendIt is not liable for any damages arising from transactions between users, including but not limited to property damage, loss, or theft. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
Users are encouraged to resolve disputes directly. LendIt may, at its discretion, mediate disputes but is not obligated to do so. Any legal disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.
LendIt may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
